Songtide is a Mac app made by DCODED (dcoded.dev).

Songtide doesn't collect, store on our servers, sell or share any personal data. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking of its own, and DCODED receives no information about you or how you use the app.

What stays on your Mac

Your settings (such as sidebar items and playback preferences) and a cached copy of your account name and profile picture, which the app shows in its sidebar. These are stored locally in the app's container and are removed when you sign out or delete the app.

Updates

Once a day, Songtide downloads a small list of available versions from songtide.dcoded.dev to see whether there's an update. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address to the server, along with the app's version, but no information about you or your listening. You can turn automatic updates off in Settings › General.

Equalizer and visualizer

Both are optional. When you turn either on, macOS asks you to let Songtide capture audio. Songtide only captures its own playback, not other apps and not your microphone, and processes it in real time on your Mac to apply the equalizer or animate the visualizer. The audio is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.

YouTube Music

Songtide displays the YouTube Music website, provided by Google. When you sign in and use it, Google's Privacy Policy applies to that data. Your Google sign-in happens directly with Google; Songtide never sees or stores your password.

This website

songtide.dcoded.dev uses Google Analytics to count visits and downloads and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and receives your IP address and basic information about your browser, under Google's Privacy Policy. The Songtide app itself has no analytics.
